Top 10 Albums of 2008

There have been so many lists around this time of year, I thought one more wouldn't hurt.
Here are my favourites:
10. Atlas Sound - Let the blind lead those... ( Beautifully atmospheric.)
9. Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks - Real Emotional Trash (I didn't like this at first but now...Damn he's good.)
8. The Sea and Cake - Car Alarm  (A fresh sound from an old favourite.)
7. Department of Eagles - In Ear Park  (Grizzly Bear offshoot. Love that.)
6. TV on the Radio - Dear Science  ( Exciting nerd rocker.)
5. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes  (The vocals on track three stop me every time.)
4. No Age - Nouns (just plain exciting punk rawk to soothe the soul.)
3. Deerhunter - Microcastles  (a last minute surprise - stunning.)
2. Portishead - Third (The Rip is transcending)
1. Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago... ( One of the most beautiful and personal records I have ever heard.)

Notables:
She & Him - Volume One. (Caught me by surprise. Zooey's voice is a gift.)
Judy Garland - Judy Live at Carnegie Hall. ( An oldie that I had never heard until this year. It's a fantastic snapshot of a forgotten era. Truly impressive performance with the fantastic banter included.)

Happy New Year.

Resolution no. 1.

Time to finish what was started.

No more beginnings.
